Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School’s music department was the recipient of a GRAMMY Signature Schools Community Award, along with a $2,000 grant to be used toward the school’s music programs.

The award provides recognition and support to public high school programs nationwide, and this year 100 schools were selected for the honor. Selections were made by the GRAMMY Museum for schools where the funding would have the most impact.
