Members of Copiague’s Industry Advisory Board and Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School business students joined together on Jan. 26 for a mentoring session in preparation of the upcoming Business Olympics competition in March.
The Industry Advisory Board is a group of people dedicated to providing advice and resources related to curriculum and career development of all students. During the meeting, students shared some their preliminary ideas with the local businesspeople in hopes of getting feedback and direction for the competition. The brainstorming session helped students get on the right track and offered guidance from the mentors for creating their presentation for this year’s “Shark Tank” themed event.
The Industry Advisory Board consists of representatives from the business, government, parental and educational community. The overall focus of the board is to infuse the K-12 curriculum with career path content in all academic areas.
