Local senior citizens connected with the senior class of Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School during the annual Senior-to-Senior Dinner on Dec. 5 in the high school’s cafeteria.
Under the direction of the Class of 2018 advisers Samuel Gonzalez and Tammy Toro, the senior class spent many weeks organizing and preparing for the festivities.
With both groups dressed in their best holiday attire, the evening began with a medley of holiday-themed singalongs performed by the school’s Madrigal Choir, under the direction of Gina Occhiogrosso. The students served the senior citizen guests with dozens of different food choices, some catered dishes and others homemade by teachers.
After dinner, the guests and students made their way to the dance floor to enjoy some time together. With raffle tickets distributed at the door, the senior citizens each had a chance to win one of more than three dozen prizes.
