Members of the Copiague Middle School Ecology Club were recently recognized for their cleanup efforts in their local community. Through the Town of Babylon Adopt-A-Highway program, the club has adopted Taylor Avenue – the road next to their school and administrative offices – and pledged to keep it litter-free.

On Oct. 12, members of the Ecology Club, along with club adviser Monica Csorny, were recognized with certificates of appreciation by the Town of Babylon and Councilman Tony Martinez as well as a representative from the office of New York State Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre on Oct. 12. The Ecology Club participates in local cleanups and beautification projects in their community throughout the year.
