In celebration of National Taco Day on Oct. 4, students in Nancy Csorny’s second-grade class at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School in the Copiague School District engaged in a variety of activities.

The second-graders started their day by reading “Dragons Love Tacos” by Adam Rubin. The students were then tasked with retelling the story, and sharing their favorite part with a friend. They also wrote informational essays on how to make a scrumptious taco. The students performed for their classmates in a reader’s theater and learned the Mexican hat dance.
